چکیده

The ever-increasing demand for new energy sources witnessed at present is leading to a shortage of oil and gas resources throughout the world. At same time, polluting such as coal are being gradually replaced by gas, fuel types electricity produced renewable methods. Unconventional shale reserves, relying on presence substantial volumes good quality, thermally mature organic matter, therefore crucial in shaping economic future multiple regions Using seismic reflection data estimate Total Organic Carbon ( TOC ) underexplored Sembar Formation Qadirpur Area, Central Indus Basin, this study investigates potential unconventional resource Pakistan. We based well-log using Passey's Δ Log R, Schmoker's, Schwarzkopf's In second stage, thermal maturity modelling was carried out formations encountered Well Deep-01, while focusing primarily Formation. Petrophysical petroelastic properties were determined cross-plotted identify zones favourable hydraulic fracturing. results show calculated values ranging from 2 4 wt% methods indicated above, proving that excellent play. Thermal further confirms matter mature. Our spatial distribution indicates particularly lower part formation, which also prone fracturing its evaluation. This presents valid approach characterise source-rock sedimentary basins South Asia around • Reliable units can be obtained wireline log analyses. models indicate hydrocarbon maturation high compaction mineralogy favour meets required criteria exploitation.

RED COLOURING OF THE UPPER RED FORMATION IN CENTRAL PART OF ITS BASIN, CENTRAL ZONE, IRAN

This study attempts to investigate the origin of red pigments, time of reddening, and processes responsible for red colouring of the Upper Miocene age Upper Red Formation, the most important clastic unit in central Iran. Mineralogical composition and textural properties of the studied sequences show that the Upper Red Formation sequences were not red when deposited, although some parts of red p...

An integrated petrophysical and rock physics analysis to improve reservoir characterization of Cretaceous sand intervals in Middle Indus Basin, Pakistan

The sand intervals of the Lower Goru Formation of the Cretaceous age, widely distributed in the Middle and Lower Indus Basin of Pakistan, are proven reservoirs. However, in the Sawan gas field of the Middle Indus Basin, these sandstone intervals are very deep and extremely heterogeneous in character, which makes it difficult to discriminate lithologies and fluid saturation. Based on petrophysic...

Basin-wide water accounting based on remote sensing data: an application for the Indus Basin

The paper demonstrates the application of a new water accounting plus (WA+) framework to produce information on depletion of water resources, storage change, and land and water productivity in the Indus basin. It shows how satellite-derived estimates of land use, rainfall, evaporation (E), transpiration (T ), interception (I ) and biomass production can be used in addition to measured basin out...
